Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm hatch risks are expected to envelop virtually all of the corn-growing region by late this week into the weekend. High risks continue to expand north this week and are found across eastern Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, southeast North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, central and northern Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, central and southern lower Michigan, and into southern Ontario, Canada. Growers are encouraged to dig up roots, both in corn and soybean fields, and determine if populations are present and if so, at what severity. This is especially true in areas where rainfall has not been excessive and also where corn rootworms have recently been a problem in the past few years.
