Alert Details

Low corn earworm migration risks will be found to the east of a southeastward-advancing cold front over the next couple days. South to southwest winds east of this front may lead to some isolated moth flights and growers with crops at or near susceptible stages to damage, especially fresh market and garden growers, may want to scout fields and monitor traps closely. Low risks focus from Kansas and Missouri north and northeast as far as southeast South Dakota, southern Minnesota, southern Wisconsin, and southwestern lower Michigan tonight into tomorrow, with the risk then shifting southeast into the southern Great Lakes and eastern/southeastern corn-growing region mainly south of a line from west of Joplin, Missouri to Chicago, Illinois. A continued active weather pattern is expected next week and likely beyond, but with the pattern being dominated a little more from the west and northwest, timing of any potential flights will be more difficult, so we are holding off on a risk for now until confidence increases.
