Alert Details

Black cutworm migration risks return to the forecast early next week as yet another potentially active period of weather invades a portion of the corn-growing region. In response to an increase in southerly winds ahead of a developing Plains low pressure system, Low risks are in the forecast mainly south of I-90 from South Dakota into southern Minnesota and southern Wisconsin as far east as the Indiana and Ohio border. Low risks then continue in the forecast Tuesday night into Wednesday mainly across the southern Great Lakes and eastern corn-growing region as this appears to be the area that may be more impacted by unimpeded south to southwest flow. The forecast may change by early next week so please stay tuned for updates on Monday.
