Corn Earworm
After an upcoming weekend with little to no corn earworm migration risk anticipated due to northwest flow, we will see a return to southerly winds next week along with warmer temperatures once again, and also a subsequent migration risk. There are some question marks regarding how a potential tropical system moving into the southern United States will interact with the corn-growing region weather pattern, but enough confidence is there to place a Low migration risk in the forecast by Monday night into Tuesday and beyond mainly west of the I-35 corridor. We encourage processing and fresh market growers to continue to monitor traps and scout fields until harvest as recent or new, additional moth flights will remain possible.
