Corn Earworm
A continued complex weather pattern across at least a portion of the corn-growing region will lead to nightly corn earworm migration risks at least through Friday, although after that point confidence decreases. Low migration risks are predicted tonight into tomorrow from Kansas, Nebraska, and eastern South Dakota as far east as western Wisconsin and right along the Mississippi River between Iowa and Illinois. As a cold front shifts east tomorrow into Friday, the overall migration risk also moves further to the east and is focused mainly east of I-35 as far east as southwestern lower Michigan and Indiana. For the time being, risks have been removed from the forecast for later in the weekend and into early next week as some camps are keeping better southerly winds further south now, but we may still need to include one more nightly risk at some point in the weekend or early next week with a stronger cold front, especially if southerly winds appear to focus further to the north.
