Alert Details

Moderate corn earworm migration risks are predicted for the eastern half of Kansas eastward into western and central Missouri through Thursday morning 5/12 as south to southwest winds persist and precipitation serves as potential insect drop zone regions. Further north and east, Low corn earworm migration risks are in place to the US 20 corridor from northeast Nebraska into Iowa and Illinois, and west of I-57 in eastern Illinois. Low corn earworm migration risks translate into the eastern Corn Belt from Thursday evening into Friday morning but few, if any, crops have been planted in this area and southerly winds are expected to be weaker so only minimal risks are in place. No risk is predicted in the extended period as cooler weather and northerly winds return by the weekend.
