Corn Rootworm
Corn rootworm hatch is predicted to continue across portions of the corn-growing region where soil temperature heat unit accumulations have reached, exceeded, or are expected to exceed initial hatch thresholds in the next five days. Fields from western Illinois into central and eastern Illinois, central Indiana, and western/central Ohio are at risk earliest, with additional fields in northern Missouri, southeast Iowa, and northern Kansas expected to see hatches by next week especially where recent excessive rains have missed or been more limited. Growers in these areas should monitor their fields for signs of corn rootworm hatch and activity in the next week.
