Soybean Aphid
Soybean aphid risks continue for the next week but the focus is beginning to shift to later planted fields now given an advancing crop stage in most of the soybean-growing area. Moderate risks continue across the eastern Dakotas into Minnesota, northern Iowa, and far western Wisconsin, with Low risks from the central Dakotas and northeast Nebraska eastward into central Iowa, far northern Illinois, and much of the remainder of Wisconsin not included in the Moderate risk. Additional isolated higher populations may also be found further east into lower Michigan and southern Ontario, Canada. Growers with fields at or earlier than R6 growth stage should continue scouting at the field level and make any treatment decisions based on specific fields as soybean aphid populations will vary considerably even across adjacent fields. Once fields reach R6 stage, scouting and any treatment is no longer necessary.
