Soybean Aphid
Moderate soybean aphid risks remain in the far northern portion of the soybean-growing region including eastern North Dakota, northeastern South Dakota, and northwest Minnesota with Low risks from the central Dakotas into far northern Iowa, much of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and into lower Michigan as well as further east into southern Ontario, Canada. The majority of the soybean crop for this growing season is advancing past critical growth stages at this time, but lingering higher latitude acreage in the Dakotas and Minnesota may still be at a slightly greater risk for the next week before even there, risks will come down by next week. Growers with crops at or before the R6 growth stage should continue regular scouting until the field meets or surpasses this critical growth stage whether soybean aphids begin to have little or no effect on final yields.
