Soybean Aphid
Soybean aphid population reports continue to be very low, if any at all, across virtually the entire upper Midwest and Great Lakes region. Soybeans continue to advance in their growth process with additional blooming now occurring further north into the region. Cool and largely dry weather is predicted in the next week all across the northern portion of the soybean growing region from the eastern Dakotas into Michigan and Ontario, Canada. As a result, any populations that are currently present may increase given favorable growing conditions but reports may be more limited given the spotty nature of any reports. As a result, only Low soybean aphid risks are predicted in the next week. Growers all across the soybean-growing regions in the upper Midwest and Great Lakes region should continue to scout their fields and monitor any existing soybean aphid populations for increases in the next week.
