High western bean cutworm risks remain across portions of southeast Ontario and southwest Quebec, Canada for the next two days but then Moderate risks take over as the primary threat from this insect has decreased as peak flight subsides. Low risks remain in adjacent fields to the High/Moderate risks in Ontario/Quebec, Canada and also in upstate New York but look for continued reductions in risk areas and levels in the coming week. Growers in High/Moderate risk areas are still urged to monitor their fields closely especially if the crops are at a susceptible stage to damage.
