Western bean cutworm development risks remain across north-central into northeast Kansas and western Missouri as these areas will likely approach 25% emergence heat unit thresholds by early next week. A few moths have been reported from southern Nebraska and southwest Iowa since last weekend so while widespread flights should hold off for a little while, growers should be prepared for increasing moth count numbers in the next week or so especially across the western and southwestern portions of the corn-growing region (Nebraska, Iowa, northern Kansas, and Missouri).
