The primary risk area for continued western bean cutworm development/emergence stretches from far eastern Minnesota and Wisconsin into Michigan and also Ontario, Canada. The latest trap counts and field reports from these areas continue to indicate sporadically high trap counts and field activity with the greatest concentration of reports coming from Ontario at present time. As heat unit accumulations continue to increase, the risk areas and levels will decrease in coverage as peak flights are now likely occurring or have already passed in virtually all of the corn-growing region across the Midwest and into Canada.
