Peak western bean cutworm flights are continuing especially across portions of Ontario, Canada but more sporadic high trap counts are still possible further west into northern lower Michigan and also the central sands region of Wisconsin. As this once-a-year generational insect continues to work through higher emergence thresholds, counts will either start or continue to drop over the next week or so with the main focus by next week remaining over Canada. Growers across the far northern corn-growing region and into Canada need to remain on alert for this insect in their fields.
